On June 5, the “June Horse Race” was held in the hometown of Chinese Tibetan horse racing culture, Lithang County, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, with 64 riders and their horses participating in the event.

The race breaks with the traditional short-distance race model and opens up a new cross-country track, which truly tests the endurance of the horses and the skills of the riders. The starting point departs from Bayi Racecourse, goes along National Highway 227 towards Zhaga Holy Mountain, and after encircling the mountain, it returns to the starting point. The total length of the track is 32 kilometers.

After less than an hour of competition, the famous horse “Little Red Horse” from Shangri-La, Yunnan Province, won the first prize of 20,000 yuan (2,823 US dollars).
