The 18th Yellow Peony Tibetan Medicine Culture and Tourism Festival opened on May 28 in Mailing City, Nyingchi, Xizang. 

As the world’s only concentrated distribution area of wild large-flowered yellow peonies, Mailing experiences its annual peak flowering season in May. 

Stretching across the hillsides, the golden sea of flowers sets off the snow-capped mountains, forests and canyons in a breathtaking plateau tableau.  

As an important birthplace of Tibetan medicine culture, Mailing is also using this festival to showcase the unique charm of its millennium-old Tibetan medicine heritage to visitors and to advance the deep integration of “Tibetan medicine and tourism.”
