Recently, the exhibition titled “Auspicious Beginnings” co-hosted by the Palace Museum and the Cultural Heritage Administration of the Xizang Autonomous Region, was inaugurated at the Xizang Museum.

In 2023, the exhibition was first held at the Palace Museum in Beijing, where it received a warm reception from cultural heritage enthusiasts in the capital. Now being showcased in Xizang, this exhibition features 95 sets (114 pieces) of artifacts related to Xizang from the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. Sourced from four institutions, namely the Palace Museum, the Xizang Museum, the Potala Palace Administration, and the Norbulingka Administration, these relics encompass porcelain, jade, Thangka paintings, and statues. Among its highlights are items making their return to Xizang for the first time—such as a statue of Avalokiteshvara presented by the Seventh Dalai Lama to Emperor Qianlong; a fowo (Buddha reliquary) gifted by the Sixth Panchen Erdeni; and a statue of the Sixth Panchen Erdeni at age nine.
