Upon entering the Mailing Shengshi Agriculture Fruit Base in Xizang, one is greeted by sprawling peach orchards, their branches heavy with fruit, filling the air with a delightful fragrance. “This is a crispy peach from our original ecological environment, having absorbed the abundant sunlight of the plateau,” remarked Yang Kaiping, the manager of this base, as he held a freshly picked peach in his hands.

Six years ago, the area was a barren wasteland overrun by unproductive forest. Today, it has transformed into one of the largest fruit production bases in Xizang. The base spans an impressive 3,000 mu and yields over 600 tons of fresh fruit annually.

It has been reported that the base has created employment opportunities for over 70,000 local workers since 2017. These workers are engaged in weeding, thinning fruits, and harvesting within the base. To date, a total of more than RMB 10.8 million in wages has been disbursed cumulatively.
