On April 29, the Tibet Autonomous Region People's Hospital successfully performed fenestration and drainage of a huge liver cyst with a surgical robot. This is the first show of a surgical robot in the Tibet Autonomous Region, and the "doctor plus robot" operation mode has also created a precedent for the application of surgical robots in the Tibet Autonomous Region.
Cong Lin, a member of the seventh batch of "group-style" medical aid team from Peking Union Medical College Hospital to Tibet, said that the successful use of the surgical robot has filled the gap in Tibet's medical services in this field, and would promote the high-quality development of minimally invasive surgery. In the future, hospitals could use surgical robots to carry out general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery and other related operations to provide patients with better and more efficient diagnosis and treatment services.
