Intentional Guests Gathered in Nyingchi for Dialogues on the Development of Xizang

The 2025 Forum on the Development of Xizang, China, which focused on the development of the Xizang Autonomous Region, has attracted over 400 guests from home and abroad, of which over 100 are foreign government officials, entrepreneurs, experts of different fields and scholars, etc.

The event lasts from October 27th to 30th. On 28th, October, the day before the main forum officially opened, participants visited Nyingchi city, the venue of the event.

Historically known as “Kongpo”, Nyingchi has long been renowned for its unique geological environment and mild weather. Its natural beauty has astonished the visitors.

“It’s awesome, and I really like the landscape. We also see a lot of animals here, and how the people treat you. It’s very nice, and we’re very happy to be here,” said Rafael Valenzuela Martínez, head of the International Department of RFEAGAS (Royal Spanish Federation of Purebred Livestock Associations), standing at Lulang high pasture, where the locals herd their cattle and sheep.

The event has arranged various activities, including paying a visit to local museums, experiencing traditional Tibetan medical therapy and enjoying leisure time in wetland parks. This two-day trip showcased Xizang’s well-preserved culture and lifestyle the local people led.

“The infrastructure here is amazing, absolutely spectacular. Nobody does infrastructure better than China, and I’m hoping that the UK, especially when it comes to infrastructure projects, can learn from China as much as possible,” former member of the United Kingdom parliament, Mark Logan told the reporter.

The forum, a comprehensive platform for discussing and evaluating the development of Xizang, has successfully held for 7 sessions since 2006. This year, participants will mainly focus on environmental protection, youth development and highland industry.
