On January 7, 2025, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Dingri County, Xigaze City, Xizang. One year later, the reporter revisited Senga Village and Gurum Village in Chamco Township, which had been the hardest-hit areas during the disaster.

Today, the once-devastated landscape has regained its vitality. Traditional Tibetan-style new houses are neatly arranged across the villages, and the villagers’ faces radiate joyful smiles as children play nearby, their clear laughter echoing through the air.
