2026-01-21

On January 7, 2025, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Dingri County, Xigaze City, Xizang. One year later, the reporter revisited Senga Village and Gurum Village in Chamco Township, which had been the hardest-hit areas during the disaster.

Today, the once-devastated landscape has regained its vitality. Traditional Tibetan-style new houses are neatly arranged across the villages, and the villagers’ faces radiate joyful smiles as children play nearby, their clear laughter echoing through the air.

The reconstruction efforts have not only restored physical infrastructure but also rekindled hope and confidence among the local population.
