On the afternoon of December 9, the 6th Scripture Master Qualification Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the High-level Tibetan Buddhism College of China was held in Beijing.

The 14 applicants from Gelug Sect, Sagya Sect, Jonang Sect, Nyingma Sect, Gagyu Sect, and Bonpo Sect of Tibetan Buddhism all obtained the first-grade scripture master qualification of the High-level Tibetan Buddhism College of China after a series of strict assessing processes including qualification verification, Buddhist scripture debating, thesis defense, and comprehensive assessment.

Additionally, according to the regulations of the qualification assessment of scripture masters, one special-grade scripture master was selected and appointed from the first-grade scripture masters in the masters pool, seven eligible second-grade scripture masters were upgraded to first-grade status, and three specially invited scripture masters (with first-grade qualification) were newly accredited.

According to information, since the work started in 2011, the High-level Tibetan Buddhism College of China has altogether held six qualification assessments of scripture masters, awarding a total of 117 people with the scripture master qualification. Currently, these scripture masters have become a crucial driving force for promoting the modern academic title education of the High-level Tibetan Buddhism College of China and the traditional Buddhist scripture education of monasteries.
