Witnessing great changes in Chamdo from last 70 years through light and shadow

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Chamdo, a book and film exhibition with the theme “Glorious 70 Years of Praise For the New Chamdo” was held at the Chamdo Museum.

It is understood that the more than 1,000 works being exhibited include a selection of 94 calligraphy pieces (59 in Chinese and 35 in Tibetan), 48 paintings, 14 thangka paintings, and 218 photographs. These include masterpieces by calligraphy, art, and photography amateurs from the Tibet Autonomous Region as well as works by artists from Fujian Province, Tianjin Municipality, Chongqing Municipality, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province, and Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province.

The works on display reflect from different angles the spirit of people from all ethnic groups in Chamdo, the great achievements in economic development, achievements in the construction of a beautiful Chamdo, the gratifying sights of a better life, unique cultural customs, the beautiful and charming natural scenery, and the latest achievements in the inheritance and development of prestigious intangible cultural heritage thangka.
